This tour in 5 sentences

Roughly five to seven hours built around Europe's most powerful waterfall and the old towns that sit just beyond it. You start in Neuhausen am Rheinfall and go down to the falls themselves, loud enough to feel before you see them. Schloss Laufen above the water and Schlössli Wörth on the opposite bank give you the two classic angles, depending on where the light is better. Schaffhausen follows with its old town of painted facades and the Munot, the round fortress above the vineyards. The day ends along the Rhine at Stein am Rhein, whose frescoed houses are the reason people remember the drive home.
