This tour in 5 sentences

Roughly six to eight hours east, covering a lake, a principality and a cheese cellar. Rapperswil gets the longest stop of the morning, with its rose gardens, the lakeside and the castle above the old town. The Walensee viewpoint is the photo stop of the route, with the Churfirsten rising straight out of the water. Liechtenstein follows with Vaduz, where the castle is seen from the outside as it is the prince's residence, before Appenzell adds its painted house fronts. The day closes with a Swiss cheese tasting at a local manufacturer, and St. Gallen with its abbey library can be added as an optional extra.
